B.C. PSLS
What is Quality Assurance (QA)?
QA is intended to be:
- A way of identifying registrants with practice issues but who are not yet a risk to the public
- Non- punitive in nature
The College's QA program framework has been developed in accordance with recent changes in the Health Professions Act (HPA). In order to comply with existing and potential legislation, the program is intended to work with registrants within facilities and individual registrants requiring QA intervention.
The QA department works with individual registrants to foster and support their nursing practice. The program requires ongoing communication, honesty, and commitment to ensure the successful achievement of quality practice. The information received from a registrant, regarding their practice, and obtained through the QA process is completely confidential.
